How do I create an account?
Download Fravel from the App Store, tap "Create account" on the welcome screen, and enter your name, email, and a password. You can also sign in with your Apple ID for a faster setup.
How does Fravel detect cities I've visited?
When you tap "Sync from photos," Fravel reads the GPS metadata from photos in your library to identify cities you've been to. Only the city name is stored — not the raw coordinates or any photo data. This feature is entirely optional and requires your permission.
How do I find friends on Fravel?
Go to the Explore tab and search by username. You can also see suggested users based on mutual connections. Once you follow someone, their Do's and Avoid's will appear in your Following feed.
What is the Explorer Level?
Your Explorer Level reflects how many countries you've visited: Rookie (0–2), Traveler (3–9), Explorer (10–19), Nomad (20–39), and Globetrotter (40+). It updates automatically as you add more city pins to your passport.

What's the difference between a Do and an Avoid?
A Do is a genuine recommendation — a place, experience, or insider tip you'd tell your best friend. An Avoid is an honest warning — something that wasn't worth the time or money. Both are equally valuable. There are no sponsored placements on Fravel.
How do I add photos to a tip?
When writing a tip, tap the camera icon to attach photos from your library or take a new one. You can add up to 10 photos per tip. Photos appear in a scrollable strip on your tip card and on your city detail page.
Can I edit or delete a tip I've posted?
Yes. Tap on your tip to open it, then tap the three-dot menu (•••) in the top right corner. You'll see options to Edit or Delete. Deleted tips are removed immediately and cannot be recovered.
How does upvoting work?
Tap the upvote arrow on any tip to say you agree with it. You can upvote each tip once. Higher-upvoted tips appear more prominently when browsing a city. You can remove an upvote by tapping it again.

Account & privacy

How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly in the app: go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Alternatively, use our account deletion page. All your data, tips, and photos are permanently deleted within 30 days.
How do I turn off push notifications?
Go to your iPhone's Settings → Fravel → Notifications and toggle off any notification types you don't want. You can also adjust this in the Fravel app under Profile → Settings → Notifications.
Is my data shared with third parties?
We do not sell your personal data. We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure provider, operating under a data processing agreement. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
How do I change my email or password?
Go to Profile → Settings → Account to update your email address or change your password. You'll receive a confirmation email for any email address changes.
